Certifications
Credibility and accountability are fundamental to how our service operates. Our certifications, including internationally recognised standards such as ISO, ensure that our work is auditable, risk-free, and aligned with best practice. They provide our customers with the confidence that our processes, data, and impact reporting meet the highest levels of quality and compliance.
ISO 9001 Certified
Our waste compensation process for providing e-waste compensation by funding collection and recycling in developing countries is certified to ISO 9001, the international standard for quality management systems. This certification confirms that the processes for how e-waste compensation is delivered, including funding mechanisms, process controls, and continuous improvement, are clearly defined and consistently applied. For our customers, ISO 9001 provides assurance that e-waste compensation is managed in a structured, transparent, and reliable way, with quality and risk management embedded throughout the process.
TCO Approved Collector
We are proud to be recognised as a TCO Certified Edge, E-waste Compensated Approved Collector, meaning our e-waste collection service meets the strict social and environmental requirements of the TCO Certified programme. This approval confirms that we can coordinate responsible collection and recycling of e-waste in regions lacking safe systems, supporting clients in delivering equivalent e-waste compensation for every certified product.
Our Partners
Working with trusted organisations across technology, sustainability, and policy keeps us close to the topics that matter. Alongside our certifications, these partnerships ensure our service remains credible, relevant, and continuously evolving.
GDSA
As part of the Government Digital Sustainability Alliance (GDSA), we contribute to cross-sector collaboration focused on reducing the environmental impact of digital and ICT services.
PREVENT Waste Alliance
Closing the Loop is a steering committee member of the Prevent Waste Alliance, a multi-stakeholder network bringing together public and private organisations to advance practical solutions for waste prevention and circular economy challenges worldwide.
As a member, we were a steering partner in the E-waste compensation as an international financing mechanism (ECoN) project, which explored how voluntary e-waste compensation can help fund safe collection and recycling in countries lacking formal systems. The project focused on strengthening credibility, governance, and transparency, and on positioning e-waste compensation as a complementary mechanism to existing producer responsibility and recycling frameworks.
NCDD
Member since 2024, of the Nationale Coalitie Duurzame Digitalisering (NCDD), a public-private platform where government, industry, research and civil society collaborate to accelerate sustainable digitalisation in the Netherlands. NCDD brings together organisations committed to reducing the environmental footprint of digital systems and shaping the future of responsible digital transformation
Circular Electronics Initiative
We are part of the Circular Electronics Initiative (CEI), a global collaboration working to accelerate the transition towards a circular electronics system. Through CEI, we contribute to cross-industry dialogue and action focused on extending product lifecycles, improving e-waste management, and embedding circular principles across the electronics value chain.
