Bringing circularity into IT procurement, one device at a time.
As a leading Northern European IT reseller, Dustin provides hardware, software, and services to businesses and organisations. Driven by innovation and sustainability, it was the first international partner to embed Closing the Loop’s One for One circular service in its Dutch market portfolio.
The Ambition
By partnering with Closing the Loop, Dustin aimed to extend its sustainability strategy beyond its own operations and enable more sustainable IT procurement for its customers. Through e-waste compensation, the company saw a concrete way and found a clear opportunity to translate circularity into action by compensating for the devices sold to businesses and organisations across the Netherlands.
The Solution
Dustin integrated One for One directly into its product offering. The model is simple: for every new device Dustin sells, an equivalent amount of scrap phones is collected in countries lacking formal waste management infrastructure and responsibly recycled.
The service can be applied to phones, tablets and laptops, offering Dustin’s customers flexibility to extend circular procurement through waste compensation across a large part of their IT estate. This approach enables companies and organisations in both the public and private sectors to take measurable, visible action on e-waste while continuing to purchase IT through their regular channels.
The Result
Dustin and Closing the Loop have already collected more than 1.000.000 scrap phones. This achievement directly reduces the burden of electronic waste in emerging markets while creating safer working conditions and new income opportunities for local waste collectors.
For Dustin customers choosing the One for One service, circularity becomes tangible: every purchase carries built-in environmental and social impact. Embedding One for One into its portfolio lets Dustin deliver greater value, demonstrate leadership in sustainable IT, and accelerate a more circular industry.
