Closing the Loop Publishes Very First Impact Report

We’ve just published our very first annual Impact Report covering 2023 and 2024.

It shows the problem we’re working on, how our One for One model works, and what that looks like in practice, from devices collected to the impact created.

Sustainability has always been at the core of our business model, and, as we grow, so does the importance of measuring, explaining, and continuously improving the impact we create. With our first CSRD-based report, we take the next step in making that impact more transparent, structured, and measurable.

The 2024 highlights

  • We collected 2,100,000 devices, equivalent to 117,000 kg of e-waste.
  • We supported 4,820 living wages across our collection network.
  • We enabled the recovery of valuable materials, including copper, silver, and gold, reducing the need for virgin mining.
  • We avoided 307 tonnes of CO₂e through responsible e-waste collection and recycling.
  • We implemented whole-device collection across all partners, ensuring more complete and safer recycling.
  • We completed our biggest battery shipment to date, and diversified shipping routes, strengthening our operational resilience.

Where we need to improve

Transparent reporting also means recognising where we still have work to do. These are some of the areas we are already focusing on:

  • Better visibility on Scope 3 emissions
  • Stronger ways to measure social impact
  • Expanding local recycling capacity
  • More transparency in our upstream supply chain

Looking Ahead

This is a first step towards making our impact more transparent and accountable. We’ll keep building on this and continue to share our progress over time.
