Closing the Loop is looking forward to participating in the WCEF 2024 Accelerator Session together with IEEP (Institute for European Environmental Policies) This session will focus on the topic “Tackling the critical raw material value chain.”
The session will focus on highlighting existing frameworks for trade and cooperation on Critical Raw Materials with key partners such as Nigeria, Chile, Canada, Kazakhstan, Namibia and the US. It highlights the role of trade and cooperation approaches to achieve a just and clean global transition.
Our founder and CEO, Joost de Kluijver, will be sharing the project around Electronic waste compensation as an International Financing Mechanism in Nigeria. Closing the Loop together with the Öko-Institut, SRADev Nigeria, Verde Impacto and Hinckley Recycling launched a pilot project in 2021 to develop and implement an international financing mechanism for the sustainable collection and treatment of e-waste, specifically lithium-ion batteries, and flat panel monitors. As advocates for circularity within the technology sector, we’re committed to advancing sustainability, share our insights and collaborate with like-minded individuals to drive progress in circular economy initiatives.
Whether you join us in person at Press Club Brussels or participate online (free of charge), mark your calendar for April 17th, from 10:00 to 11:30 GMT+1 and attend the WCEF 2024 Accelerator Session, “Tackling the critical raw material value chain.”
